My mum’s first piece of beauty advice was never to buy cheap perfume or foundation. It’s neither savvy nor cool to smell cheap or have a cakey make up base. However, in 2015 make up rules were meant to be broken. 2015 was the year of makeup experimentation. Keep reading as I am revealing some beauty gems.
Clinique Pop Lip Color & Primer
When Clinique says pop, it means serious pop of color. I loved Wow Pop (11), a rich pink lipstick and smoothing primer in one that gives a little youth to my face, while at the same time nourishes my lips. It stood out for its long wear and buttery feel. L’ oreal Brow Artist Plumper “Brows are the frames to your entire face. To painstakingly make up the rest and ignore them is to shove a Helmut Newton in an IKEA clip frame” – Sali Hughes. This was the motive to try this stuff and it was a game changer. A little tint for definition and a lot of hold does wonders. It’s all about taming and grooming people! Nails Inc Gel Effect I am big fan of Essie nail polishes, but once I gave the Nails Inc Gel Effect polishes a chance, it was love at first application. They offer a long lasting mani, a wide selection of irresistible colors, a super easy brush that coats the nail in one swipe and a nice formula that always applies evenly over the nail. L’ oreal Infallible 24h Matte Although as I am getting older I am all about glowy skin, I picked up L’oreal’s 24h matte foundation in the middle of a Greek heat wave. As soon as I started buffing it into my skin, I was totally taken with it. It’s a fantastic affordable base that leaves the skin covered but not caked. It allows a flawless, but natural finish and stays put for many hours. Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover I love, love, love this stuff! It takes the toughest of waterproof mascara in one swoop without irritating my eyes. It’s not greasy. Absolutely brilliant, no fuss, budget friendly make up remover that does the job. Well done Sephora!
