Wedding season is upon us and if you are planning to get hitched there are a whole host of things you need to consider. But listen people it's not all about the dress, or the ring! Do not forget the bridal accessories, which are the perfect way to elevate a bridal look, that reflects your personality. 

Whether you are after something fashion forward on the big day or would prefer something more timeless and demure, there is a style to suit everyone. 

The good news is I have been there, done it and I am happy to share my top 3 bridal accessories, as well as my wedding wisdom.

The Shoes
As a shoe lover, I am a big believer that when it comes to bridal dressing, the shoes should come second only to the wedding dress and they should not fall down the priority list. They are a non negotiable for me. 

Ι did not choose shoes specially designed for brides, but I invested in a pair of stunning, elegant and comfortable shoes, made from high quality lItalian leather, that I am still wearing on special occasions. It is the perfect excuse to add a pair of stunning shoes in your wardrobe that you will have and love forever!

The Hair Accessories
From oversized bows and pearl embellished headbands for a statement bridal look to delicate pearl clips and bejeweled slides for a sophisticated, feminine finish, hair accessories inject an element of elegance and edge.

If you ask me, the bride who had a feather embellished slide on her head, do keep your hair simple and loose if you go for a really ornate, chunky hair accessory. #tip Head straight to Etsy for stunning head pieces at a price that won't cost you your honeymoon.

The Perfume
The beauty of perfume is that it is so intrinsically linked to memory. It immediately transports us to a place and time. It has been 6 years since my wedding day and the scent of fig leaf, fruit and 
wood still  has the power to transport me back to that day.

I chose the eau de parfum Philosykos by Diptique as I wanted something special for the day, that  wasn’t similar to my everyday perfume, that would last, but wouldn’t be heavy for the season.  
Layering my perfume with the matching body lotion enhanced its staying power.

#tip  If you go for a floral scent, you could choose one that ties in with your bouquet. Also, it would be 
lovely the scent of your perfume to tie in with the scent of the candles at your welcome table.

A few years ago MrA and I got married in front of a 100 of our dearest and nearest. As a marketing chick, I consider myself an expert in planning, organizing and delegating, but I can tell you planning and organizing YOUR wedding is quite a challenge and it is high maintenance! The good news is I have been there, done it and I am happy to share some wedding wisdom, not only to have a blast at your wedding, but also to enjoy the time leading up to it.

Be a girl boss
Be a girl boss when it comes to decision making. Listen to close friends and family, filter opinions, but follow your gut feeling. After all it’s your wedding and you can’t please them all!

Rules are meant to be broken
Listen people, it’s totally ok to say no to typical wedding traditions. Just skip anything that will make you feel uncomfortable. You know what? I had neither a French manicure, nor an elaborate bridal updo and MrA did not wear a tie or a bow tie. We did not have any rice throwing, a wedding cake (too scared of the public feeding process) or a first dance (too embarrassed to showcase our hot love). Do not get me wrong, we love to dance!

Keep to a routine
Stick to a low stress wellness program with a bit more discipline. Radical diets, detox retreats and intense exercise can be tricky, when become stressful. Following a consistent skincare , vitamin and pilates regimen worked wonders for me to feel and look great on the big day.

Look like yourself
Even if you have access to the best, most well-known hairdresser, make-up artist, photographer in the city, stick to the trusty people, who listen to your needs and wants, and they will make you look like your luminous yourself on your wedding day!

Relax and have fun
It’s awesome having all the people you love the most in one place. There is no better day spending time drinking, dancing and chatting with them. After all, it’s all about the wedding party. Make sure you enjoy it!
