Hellmann’s is my favorite condiment brand, and this truffle mayonnaise is an indulgent twist on the classic hero product, the Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise. This is a seriously rich and creamy mayonnaise with tiny pieces of truffle from Greek producers. The truffle aroma is not overpowering, but subtly rounds off the creamy, tangy taste. It is gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.
Hellmann’s truffle mayonnaise is the ideal spread for sandwiches as well as smoked salmon canapés, and a great accompaniment to chunky fries. You could also pair it with a chargrilled steak or a grilled cheese and mushroom toastie for an unforgettable culinary experience. I am not good with bread dough. But when I carefully read various recipes for popovers, I realised that by changing a bit my favourite recipe for crepes and adding a couple of Greek ingredients for the filling, I could easily and quickly make light, airy and crispy, savoury bread puffs. Popovers are the perfect addition to elevate Sunday brunch.
When it comes to lunch box food, there is no doubt that I am a sandwich girl. Sandwiches on-the-go are the perfect office solution, as they can be made in advance, travel with ease and there is an endless variety. Having said that, I am the one who relies on the old-school, classic ham and cheese sandwich day after day. So, I decided to spice things up a little on my sandwich repertoire by making use of food staples in my fridge, as well as incorporating ingredients that give a spin on classics. My brief trips to Athens are almost always chaotically fun. Carried away by the energy of the city, I am usually on a tight schedule, jampacked with events, meetings, visits and family time. But this time, I managed to have a few hours for just MrA, myself and the city.
